Love:
A blip on the monitor of involuntary human response, a hiccup of emotion when compared with envy... hatred... lust.
And just who was this... St. Valentine?
A Bishop. Roman 3rd Century, got his head sliced off... ouch... for marrying lovers against his Emperor's decree.
You see Claudius the Second believed that men made better warriors unmarried.
Power comes with the absence of love. Love... drains us of our strength.
We never learn... do we?
And you say that love conquers all!
Well, not for you St. Valentine, not for me. Not for any of the... heart... broken.

Buns and Guns

July 11th, 2008 by admin

If you’re taking an afternoon stroll in the Hezbollah stronghold of Dahiyeh, Beirut’s much bombed southern suburb, and you find yourself wondering what to do about having a late lunch. Might I recommend a small restaurant that offers the finest in casual dining, called Buns and Guns.

Buns and Guns

There you can choose such items as Stinger missiles(chicken wings), Grenades(potato wedges), or a Mortar(burger) from their bullet shaped menu.

You can even enjoy your meal out on the patio, safely ensconced behind a tasteful wall of sandbags.

The slogan of the restaurant — “Sandwiches Can Kill You” — is displayed at the entrance with a photo of a hamburger with a pistol sticking between the buns.
