Paddington Bear at 50

In the latest Paddington book, he will be arrested and interrogated over his immigration status in a book marking his 50th birthday.
This will be the first book to be published since Paddington Takes the Test came out in 1979.
Even children’s authors seem to feel it necessary to make a political statement.
I guess there’s no place for left for innocence. That’s a shame.
